Welcome to the Pleasant Hill Wrestling Club.  The Pleasant Hill Wrestling Club (PHWC) is a youth organization open to all age groups 5-18 years of age.  We have been serving the communities of Pleasant Hill and Martinez for over 25 years.  The PHWC is a sanctioned member of USA Wrestling and the Olympic Athletic Organization.

 

Our goal is to provide the best possible wrestling experience to our youth members.  All aspects of wrestling including drills, skills, conditioning, and strategies are covered in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.  Life skills such as discipline, commitment, hard work, and sportsmanship are also an important part of our program.

 

Our coaching staff has a broad range of wrestling/coaching experience at the youth, High School and Collegiate levels.  Many have grown up with the PHWC and have their own children and friends now involved in our program.  All of our coaches have been accredited through the California/USA Wrestling Training Program.

 

Wrestling is an exciting and rewarding sport that instills the values of Sportsmanship, Discipline, Hard Work, and Self-Control.  We would like to invite you to become a part of our organization.  If you have any questions we may be reached at:

Winter sign-ups are now being conducted!

 

Winter Season: 

 

Begins December 1st and concludes with the Kids State Meet, March 17th in Fresno.

 

Sign-Ups

We will be hosting an orientation night for all new and returning wrestlers on Tuesday, November 29th at College Park HS in the large gym.  All aspects of the sport will be covered as an introduction to new participants.  We will open the gym at 6:45pm.

 

Forms: 

All participants must have a release form filled out before they may start.

Practices: 

Grades 6,7,8  Tuesday and Thursday 3-4:30pm.

Grades K-5 Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-6pm.

All practices will take place in the Valley View Middle School Mini-Gym.

Valley View is located at 181 Viking Drive, Pleasant Hill 94523.

*THERE WILL NOT BE PRACTICE OVER THANKSGIVING OR WINTER BREAK 

 

Fee:   

The cost to join the club is $100. Make checks out to the Pleasant Hill Wrestling Club.

Uniforms: 

Athletic clothing is required for practice.  Wrestling Shoes are highly recommended and may be purchased at most local sporting good stores.  A wrestling uniform called a singlet should be purchased by those interested in competing at tournaments.

 

Tournaments:

An entry fee of $10 is usually required at most local tournaments.  We normally meet at Valley View and carpool to events.  It is imperative that all parents help with transportation.
